Merchandising Supervisor

Select Media Services, a leading distribution service for book and magazine publishers, delivering to over 10,0000 specialty retailers throughout the U.S. currently has an opening for a Merchandising Supervisor in the Nashville, Tennessee area covering a territory surrounding Nashville. JOB DESCRIPTION

 

-This is an entry-level supervisory position and must be able to achieve the following results:

  -Maintain or increase yearly sales trends

  -Assure that stores serviced rate is kept at or above 98%

  -Manage staff of P/T merchandisers keeping turnover below 60%

  -Keep expenses at or below budget

 

 

-This position will spend approximately 50% of the time merchandising client stores and 50% of the time supervising the part time staff within a 150-mile radius of Nashville.

 

-Individual needs to be a results oriented person with high integrity that can motivate P/T merchandisers and persuade store personnel to support the service execution of books and magazines in major retailers.

 

-Individual needs to have a very strong work ethic and a strong set of personal values including integrity, honesty and a willingness to provide great customer service.

 

-This is a “hands on” position that requires an individual who is comfortable taking on all aspects of the Merchandising Supervisor position and will report to the Regional Merchandising Manager.

 

-Essential duties include: Servicing Stores, Working with & maintaining frequent contact with merchandising staff, Counseling and coaching staff on performance issues, Hiring merchandisers as need dictates, Training new merchandisers on job duties.

 

-In store work is detail oriented and physical in nature.  Local and some extended travel is expected as the supervisor position will work from home and be in the field 4 to 5 days a week.
