Career Level Experienced (Non-Manager) Merchant - Home Lands End, a leading international brand of classically inspired clothing and home products, is currently looking for a Merchant for our Home division. Lands Endis a multi-channel retailer offering products through catalogs, internet, and in Sears stores. Landsend.com is the worlds largest apparel Web site (in business volume) and has repeatedly gained national recognition as a leader in the e-commerce world. Responsible for driving a specific category(s), through product development. This encompasses financial planning (demand, markup, ad ratio, and GMROI), style and line development, quality assurance, and communication regarding benefits of each product. Also responsible for bottom line evaluation of existing styles and colors. Works closely with merchandise, design and creative team members to determine the product content of each catalog and overall theme of a spread. Partners with quality members to maximize quality and fit of styles, and with inventory team members to ensure timely deliveries and order fulfillment.QualificationsSuccessful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities: ·Bachelor s degree in related area (Apparel, Retail, Business, Marketing, Applied Analysis, etc.) ·Minimum of 5 years previous buying/merchandising experience with bottom line financial responsibility. Home background a plus. ·Private label product development experience for catalog, specialty or department stores preferred. ·Strong quantitative and PC skills ·Prior experience with strategic and financial planning ·Must be able to travel domestic and international ·Demonstrated leadership skills ·Ability to work independently and in a team setting ·Strong interpersonal, communication and facilitation skillsSears is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
