Career Level Experienced (Non-Manager) Merchant - Retail Lands End is a leading direct merchant of traditionally styled, classic casual wear and products for the home. We are currently searching for a Merchant in our Retail division. This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.This position oversees merchandise strategy and selection for the Lands' End brand at retail and ensures performance to plan. This position will be responsible for coordinating merchandise strategies. This position reports directly to the Senior Merchant but works in tandem with the Lands' End merchandising group to develop strategies, that drive results and support the Lands' End brand at retail. These strategies align with the Lands' End merchandise strategies and support seasonal merchandise plans. This individual works closely with the visual, allocation and planning teams, supply organization and the merchandise placement team to significantly improve the profitability and maximize shareholder value.Key Responsibilities:Manages assortment selection process by division, reviews assortments for balance and adherence to strategic and financial objectives.Accountable for merchandise division performance, recommends revisions to the merchandise plan/forecast based on sound analysis and ensures corrective actions are implemented.Works with the planning organization to develop assortment plans that support overall strategy of in stock positioning for key merchandise categories, classifications and items. Know the competition and can anticipate market/business trends that support future business opportunities. Analyzes historical business and makes recommendations continually drive the business. Delivers financial results within the Lands' End brand parameters.Establishes collaborative relationships with allocation to ensure availability and the timely delivery of merchandise.Partners with marketing and in-store marketing to execute the division/line promotional strategy.Actively participates in concept meetings and line reviews.Responsible for process improvement and development as it relates to the Retail effort.QualificationsEXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIRED:·5-7 years of department/specialty store merchandising experience, specialty store experience is preferred.·Strong analytical and financial skills.·Proven negotiation skills.·Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.·Ability to develop strong partnerships.·Knowledge of retail planning.·Knowledge of retail allocation.·Knowledge of floor layouts/visuals.·Strong market awareness.Why Lands End?Located just 45 minutes from Madison, WI, we provide a relaxed environment that provides opportunity for growth.
