Reports to:   Director of Technical and Quality

 

Status:  Exempt

 

Job Requirements:

 Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related discipline; Metallurgical or Material Science Engineering degree preferred.

 Minimum 3 years experience at a steel mill or related industrial operation.

 Energetic, well-organized individual who is adaptable to changing assignments and priorities.

 Works well under pressure in a fast paced work environment.

 Exhibits independent thinking skills, initiative and ability to think outside the box.

 PC skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, spreadsheets and databases.

 Moderate travel required (30 - 40%) with possible relocation.

 

Description of Duties:

 Assist in the development of melt shop tools such as IntelliMelt™ and IntelliLoad™.

 Analyze scrap problems at sites with recommendations for corrections, prevention and improvements.

 Able to accept Mill Service site management opportunity as business needs dictate.

 Understand the customers’ problems and challenges and suggest ways for improvement.

 Assist Brokerage Offices on scrap and Melt Shop questions.

 Assist in the set-up and possible management of new operation sites.

 Other duties as assigned.
