National Corporate Communications Manager / Internal
A Fortune 500 company is seeking a manager to join the Corporate Communications team, which is part of the National Marketing Department. Headquartered in Colorado, the company has operations in Chicago, Florida, Utah, Mid-Atlantic, California, Nevada, and Phoenix.
The corporate communications function is highly valued by management and is an essential piece of the company’s overall communications. Telling the company story and communicating company priorities, values, products and business results in a timely and relevant manner is a critical function of this rewarding position.
This position manages all employee communications, media relations, community relations and supporting investor relations, under direction of the Vice President, Marketing and Communications. This position is the primary writer of corporate communications in various media. Performs writing, copy editing and senior editor functions for newsletters, press releases and other corporate publications, including manuals, annual report, multimedia/video scripts, and internal memorandums.
Excellent project management and writing skills required; preferably professional corporate communications writing experience.
Requirements A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Liberal Arts, English or related degree requiring communications skills required. Advance degree in associated fields not mandatory but welcome. 7 -10 years as a corporate communications professional, experience communicating change management a plus 2 years managing or supervising staff Ability to developing communication goals, objectives and strategies for a diverse mix of internal and external projects Strategic project management and writing skills required; preferably professional corporate communications writing experience Effective strategic thinker who can communicate complex issues to a variety of audiences Professional presence and the ability to work effectively with senior management Strong influencing and consensus building skills Ability to anticipate trends and issues that will affect company’s messages and strategies Must be flexible to changing needs and assignments Competence at multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks
