Position Overview/DescriptionContract position responsible for the maintenance, administration, and support of a wide range of technology and project related activities in implementation and support of the customer's overall networking environment consisting of application, database, messaging, and file and print services. Ensures the organization's LAN/WAN is tuned to optimum performance and contributes to the future growth of the overall network infrastructure of the company. Reports to the customer's IT Manager.Essential Responsibilities Install, configure, and support internal and external networks. Maintain (install, upgrade, troubleshoot, and manage), schedule and provide highest level of technical support for Network Servers using Windows based operating systems (both servers and workstations), running a variety of application software. Support applications utilizing SQL 2000 and 2005 databases - SQL query writing and reporting writing in MRI accounting software. Install, configure, and support Microsoft Exchange Servers in order to ensure reliability of The customer’s E-mail Systems and to minimize service interruptions. Review, manage, upgrade and monitor the network backup processes ensuring data integrity and business continuity. Monitor and regulate server storage space, monitor server performance and tune the network to achieve optimum performance. Assist in capacity planning (analysis and projections) to optimize system performance. Conduct advanced network systems troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems and provide assistance to the network administrator. Analyze and resolve server and network hardware, software and connectivity issues. Manage upgrades, directory structures, database servers, system and user rights, user environments, security, software and files services. Ensure that systems are at the highest level of security, up-time and performance, and is consistent with industry/technology trends and The customer’s security procedures. Maintain an advanced level of knowledge of operating system and application software being used to provide highest levels of support to users and other network support technicians. Maintain documentation on all technical and operational problems.Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. Six to eight years demonstrated technical network experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. MCSE Certification (2000 OR 2003) required. CCA or CCNA Certification preferred. Varied and strong technical background that would include extensive network, communications systems, data center operational support, and desktop computing. Six or more years of network administration in an enterprise environment. Advanced Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, Windows 2003 Server, and IIS 5.0 Administration. Expert knowledge of Exchange 2000/2003 and SMTP gateways. Experience with PGP encryption a plus. Solid experience with E-mail Protocols and delivery methods - SMTP, IMAP, POP3, MAPI, etc. Advanced Active Directory, DHCP and DNS Administration skills. Strong understanding of TCP/IP Protocol. Microsoft SQL 2000/2005 administration and mastery of Structured Query Language. Solid experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, systems management & networking on multiple computing platforms. Ability to build Windows 2003 servers from the ground and perform complex migrations. Data security background. Advanced knowledge of Firewalls and Network security measures. Experience with Cisco ASA 5540 a plus. Experience with design and configuration of Cisco switches and routers. Experience with Cisco’s VoIP platform. Cisco Call Manager and Unity experience (version 4.x or newer) preferred. Sharepoint Server 2007 experience a plus. Flexibility/Adaptability.
