Operations Manager - Chicago

Position Summary:

Oversees several business units and/or facilities. Supervises several exempt employees; may supervise non-exempt employees including responsibility for their selection, training and performance evaluation. Participates in the budget development and management process. Creates and plans programs and projects that adhere to approved budgets and schedules, and oversees their implementation. Develops, maintains and enhances client relationships.



Responsibilities:

Conduct preliminary review of all reports, budgets, revenues and expenses to ensure accuracy

Oversee revenue control for area of responsibility; may include report and budget development

Monitor and audit revenue control measures to ensure performance to budget, review and measure location and management performance and take corrective action when appropriate

Analyze data for recommendations including, but not limited to, competitive analysis

Interact directly with clients to maintain and enhance client relationships; may be responsible for new business development

Works with peers, subordinates and Regional Manager in developing, implementing, and enforcing operational standards to achieve operational excellence

Oversee the staffing of area of Operations including, but not limited to recruitment and selection of management and non-management staff

Works with Human Resources in the employee training and development, succession planning, employee relations, and counseling and disciplinary issues

Works with Accounting in the timely processing of Payables, Receivables, and other required tasks

Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload (proactively seeks new ways to increase productivity and efficiency)

Responsible for the Performance Management and Development of staff

Other duties as assigned



Educational / Experience Requirements:

College degree and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of parking management experience to include multiple facility venues

Previous supervisory experience required, overseeing employees and managers

Financial analysis and budgeting experience

Proven positive client relations and customer service experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills, to include presentations and business writing

Exposure to Accounting software applications, and proficient in business computer software skills (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.).

Proven ability to meet profitability goals



Other Requirements:

Work requires a flexible working schedule to adjust to the needs of the operation

Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.

Strong analytical skills are required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various operational and marketing problems and prioritize work.

Work requires continual attention to detail, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines with the ability to hold management and non-management subordinates accountable for assigned duties.

Demonstrated success in the following criteria: Decision Making, Management Skills, Delegation, Control and Follow-up, Work Standards, Coaching/Mentoring, Developing Teams, Financial Management and Budgetary Control, Taking Action, Building Customer/Client Loyalty, Oral and Written Presentation and Professional Communication, Planning and Organizing, Tenacity, and Self Control.
