Oracle DBA II (Job #1044)

Job Description:PLANIT Technology Group is seeking a Oracle DBA for our client in Columbus, OH. This is a permanent position with our client. The qualified candidate will be part of a team responsible for the implementation, planning, coordination, configuration, installation, and ongoing management of all Oracle Databases across the various business units. Job Description/Responsibilities: * The primary focus of this position will be database support. * Key responsibilities include working with other teams to insure maximum availability, backup and restoration when required and working with other teams on root cause analysis of outages. * Developing solutions to match business requirements. * Work closely with other groups including developers, infrastructure and testing. * Specific work will include database installation, database creation, database configuration, databases upgrades, including definitions, structures, and documentation, database backup & restoration, database consulting and database change management. * Provide input into long-range database requirements and operational guidelines. * Use best operating practices to establish and maintain security and integrity controls. T* Formulate and monitor policies, procedures and standards relating to database management; propose and implement enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system; proactively research and locate necessary tools and processes to identify and proactively avert troublesome trends, as they develop in order to ensure a stable performance environment for the production environment. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree • 5-7 years Oracle DBA experience, 5+ years in a 24/7/365 environment • Experience with highly available database solutions / architectures such as Oracle 10G RAC • Experience in database / data warehouse design desired. • Oracle Performance Tuning Experience required • Experience working in secure enterprise database environments • Experience with RMAN • Experience performing a full restore to an Oracle database from tape. Disaster Recovery Experience. • Strong SQL Programming, preferably Oracle with the ability to write complex SQL queries - understanding of views, stored procedures, triggers & an understanding of query optimization. • Excellent PL/SQL skills • Strong UNIX skills • Security experience (experience working in secure enterprise database environments) For consideration, please apply today!
