Pathology Associate II

Major Duties and Responsibilities (including supervising others):Job Description: MedImmune, Inc. has a new opportunity for a Pathology Associate in the Research Department at the Gaithersburg facility. The candidate will primarily be responsible for participating in a controlled, GLP environment, performing immunohistochemistry assays and tasks specific to the GxP status. The candidate may also perform a variety of research studies that may require postmortem assessment, tissue trimming, processing, and/or cataloging for storage and easy retrieval as well as immunohistochemistry. Familiarity with all aspects of the histology lab is desired, especially in immunohistochemistry and cryotomy. Technical skills should include: knowledge of proper fixation and handling techniques for tissues and targets, fixed gross specimen handling, preparation (trimming) for histopathological analysis, cryotomy and IHC. The successful candidate will need to be able to follow strict Good Laboratory Practice guidelines and actively adhere to regulatory agency requirements. Animal handling experience is desired for occasional in-vivo study assistance.Requirements/Qualifications:Education: : Bachelor's degree in biological or related science or equivalent experience required. Minimum of four years laboratory experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
