Policies & Procedures Specialist
The Policies & Procedures Specialist is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of all com-pany-wide finance policies & procedures, the maintenance of the Controllers Guide, and performing technical accounting research and problem resolution. The Policies & Procedures Specialist is responsible for managing the dissemination of finance policies & procedures, which includes the development of appropriate communi-cations and training, including rollout evaluation, tracking and follow-up. This position also participates in the evaluation of finance policy and procedure compliance. Reporting Relationships:The Policies & Procedures Specialist reports to the Assistant Controller. This Policies & Procedures Specialist may supervise a combination of internal or external resources as needed. Departmental Relationships: The Policies & Procedures Specialist has frequent and significant contact with both Corporate and field-level personnel. Corporate interaction will include the Human Resources, Information Technology, and Legal de-partments, in addition to frequent and significant contact with other accounting and finance team members, in-cluding: Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Financial Data Systems, Internal Audit, Financial Plan-ning & Analysis, Tax, and Treasury. Field-level contact includes finance personnel in the companys various business segments including the Vice Presidents of Finance / Business Segment Controllers and their field (DRU) controllers.Major Duties:The Policies & Procedures Specialist is the chief administrator for the development, maintenance and dissemi-nation of all Dresser finance related policies and procedures. Specific Duties: Act as, or collaborate with, the Companys subject matter expert in the development of finance policies and proceduresAct as Corporate Accountings lead in day-to-day technical accounting research and problem resolution Manage development and updating of all finance policies and proceduresMaintain the Controllers Guide and ensure coordination with finance policies and proceduresManage the dissemination and training of finance policies and proceduresEvaluate policy and procedure rollout effectivenessManage on-going finance policy and procedure communicationsMaintain finance policies and procedures distribution lists and key contactsMaintain the Dresser finance policies and procedures intranet siteProvide finance policy dissemination tracking metrics & status reportingMonitor finance policy rollout tracking follow-upConduct finance policy & procedure training evaluationCoordinate the logistics for the annual Global Finance SummitManage the development of training materials for the annual Global Finance SummitRecommend improvements to internal controls, including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Additional responsibilities as assigned. The Policies & Procedures Specialist must have a strong U.S. GAAP and international reporting standards technical background and understanding of change management practices. Candidate must have the ability to set and manage priorities, meet deadlines within compressed timeframes and handle multiple tasks simultane-ously. Some travel may be required. Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting required Licensing / Certification: CPA or equivalent strongly preferredExperience: 5 7 years of relevant financial or accounting work experience required, including experience writing policies and proceduresPrior experience in a public, multi-national company requiredPrior project work conducting or supervising change management, communications, or training requiredExperience in a manufacturing industry strongly preferredSkills: Very strong technical accounting skillsKnowledge of policies and procedures development and dissemination methodologyMS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Strong project management skillsKnowledge of change management practicesDemonstrated technical writing and oral and written communication skillsAbility to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks

Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting required
Licensing / Certification:
CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
Experience:
5 7 years of relevant financial or accounting work experience required, including experience writing policies and procedures
Prior experience in a public, multi-national company required
Prior project work conducting or supervising change management, communications, or training required
Experience in a manufacturing industry strongly preferred
Skills:
Very strong technical accounting skills
Knowledge of policies and procedures development and dissemination methodology
MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong project management skills
