Summary:

This position will interface with mechatroniks, controls and engine engineers in all aspects related to engine and transmission integration, cooling, fuel, air intake and exhaust systems on new development programs.  This position requires a broad technical breadth in engines with hands on experience a must.  Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of powertrain related development and integration work.  Candidate should have a minimum of 1000 hours of CAD seat time.   Education requirement is BS or MS in an engineering related field. 

Duties and Responsibilities: Integration and develop of all powertrain functional attributes to meet the vehicle application requirements. Work with component product design groups (engines, mechatroniks and chassis) to develop component specifications and systems interface definitions. Develop integrated systems definitions (system specifications & control system features).

·         Keep Management abreast of project progress, potential problems, issues and opportunities for success. Ability to conceptualize and take idea to prototype fabrication and later production design Input design ideas into CAD and share amongst engineers Develop timelines for integration and in-vehicle testing Perform DFMEA analysis Development of analyses and detailed test plans for components and systems.

A strong foundation of prototyping and production manufacturing techniques. Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to communicate information clearly, concisely, and accurately. Excellent interpersonal skills - must work well in a team environment. Knowledge of DFMEA

Required Experience

·         Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering;

·         3 years of powertrain related development

·         2000 hours or greater of parametric solid modeling, Pro-E WildFire or Solidworks preferred

·         Proven powertrain development track record from concept to production
