Practice Site Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the daily, on-site supervision of the operations of the Physician practice site. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of IHO's Regional Practice Manager, Chief Financial Officer and Physician clients, supervises the day-to-day operations of specified IHO-managed clinic(s). Oversees the performance of IHO Staff to maximize operational efficiencies and effectiveness, in support of physicians and mid-level providers. Ensures coverage for vacationing and/or absent employees including, Receptionist, Medical Assistant, and Referral Coordinator. Supervises patient flow through the practice. Ensures that all required patient referrals for services are obtained. Resolves patient complaints that are beyond the scope of the staff. Assures that all medications are maintained in a safe and secure manner. Ensures that the IHO-managed clinics are in compliance with OSHA. Completes purchasing requisitions, obtains pre-determined provider approvals, and submits orders for pharmaceutical, medical and office supplies to IHO Purchasing Manager or Coordinator. At end of each day, compares completed charts in EMR to patient appointment schedule, to ensure that patient charts are completely and accurately maintained. Maintains security of cash (Petty Cash, Patient Payments, etc.) Deposits over-the-counter monies to Bank of America, on a minimum semi-weekly basis. Follows up on all outstanding billing issues as requested by the IHO Central Billing Department. Maintains the Physicians' schedules including, in-house meetings, and out-of-office meetings with health plans, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and administration. Monitors the physical appearance of the IHO-managed clinic. All other duties as assigned by the IHO's Regional Physician Practice Manager, IHO Vice President/Executive Director or Chief Financial Officer, California HealthFirst Physicians President and Physicians. MACHINERY, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND WORK AIDS: Computer, printer(s), telephone, fax machine, calculator and photocopier. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 2 years previous experience supervising in a physician's office. EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High School Diploma. LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION: Medical Assistant Certificate or Licensed Vocational Nurse Preferred OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Able to effectively interact with physicians, patients and co-workers.
