Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Principal Electrical Engineer Job Description:Boston Scientific Neuromodulation located in Valencia California(40 miles from Los Angeles) seeks talented individuals in their innovative R&D team to develop and design medical devices. We are looking for a digital/analog hardware engineer for the development of a new product. Working as an independent member of a small team, this person will be responsible for the development of a battery powered portable medical device that can communicate wirelessly. This position requires extensive experience with microcontroller based embedded electronic circuits. Job Description Specify, design, analyze, simulate, prototype, build, test, and document various microcontroller based digital and analog circuits. Development of new electronic architectural concepts. Conduct and participate in multidisciplinary research in the design, development, testing of electronics circuits. Collecting and analyzing detailed product characterization data in support of design verification and test validation. Working closely with industrial designers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, software engineers, test engineers, component engineers, and program managers. Ensure product conform to standards and specifications. Work with quality, manufacturing and regulatory, to ensure successful product qualification and production start-up. Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment. Respond to customer needs. Qualifications Solid understanding of microcontrollers and embedded systems Firmware for embedded systems Experience with Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) schematics capture and layout. Good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills Motivated, self-directed and able to work effectively both independently and in a team Ability to write low level firmware in C and assembly language. Good planning and documentation skills. Minimum 7 years experience.
