Reviews and resolves issues within the account and those involving other groups. Advises management on issues related to compliance, legal regulations, and Company objectives. A management position requiring in-depth, comprehensive technical, communication, and management skills and abilities in Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy and Security regulations, Information Technology (IT) security, facilities management principles and practices, and disaster recovery planning. Serves as an internal expert, planning and conducting assignments for long-term projects. Applies comprehensive knowledge to unique situations and important projects. Coordinates the work of others and has functional responsibility for managing account-wide privacy/security programs. Works under limited supervision; acts independently on original tasks of an advanced, non-routine nature. Errors could cause significant disruption to operations and/or major costs.REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*· Plans privacy/security-related goals and objectives and organizes function accordingly, including the implementation of policy and the establishment of internal operating practices and procedures.· Provides guidance to staff to ensure the effective maintenance of the same.· Establishes internal privacy/security policies, procedures, monitoring, incident management, and training; assesses controls and monitors activities of units to ensure compliance with HIPAA, corporate, and federal security requirements.· Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to foster security and privacy awareness within the organization.· Oversees subcontractor policies, procedures, and processes related to disaster recovery, privacy, and security.· Provides guidance and/or takes corrective action as necessary.· Plans and monitors budget, and initiates and approves (as designated) requests for resources through the appropriate chain of command.· Responsible for development, maintenance, and timely submission of security and disaster recovery related contract deliverables.· Acts as point of contact for internal client departments to resolve problems and acts as in-house consultant, providing expertise regarding matters affecting facilities functional activities.· Encourages positive work environment and productive staff relations.· Maintains contacts with major suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors for services and/or equipment.· Represents department to internal/external stakeholders and customers on matters affecting department. Represents privacy/security function to ACS management, resolving problems or conflicts. Participates in related presentations.· Manages workflow operations to ensure efficient operation; devises and implements corrective action as required.· Keeps apprised of developments in field of expertise to ensure currency and makes recommendations to senior management to improve efficiency/effectiveness of facilities functions.· Completes other duties as assigned.Education and Typical Years Experience· BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Security Management, Business Administration, or related field required.· 7+ years of progressive experience, with demonstrated management skills.· Comprehensive knowledge of o HIPAA privacy/security legislation and regulationso Disaster recovery/business continuity planning and executiono IT security requirements· Technical background with education and/or experience in areas such as large-scale computer networks, claims processing and ancillary applications, Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), security review and assessments, privacy, and/or Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM).· Previous experience as a Privacy/Security Manager or equivalent position in a healthcare or IT company preferred.· Ability to take a broad view of the position and take initiative to communicate, interact, and cooperate with others to ensure that all aspects of a task are addressed.· Ability to contribute to a strong customer relationship through interactions with customer personnel.· Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of internal and external customers.· Ability to use PC, calculator, and/or other office equipment.· Proficiency in using PC software, including word processing and spreadsheets.ACS is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not Discriminate against any applicant on the basis of race, color, religion/creed, national origin, gender, or sex, marital status, age, disability, use of a guide dog or service animal, sexual orientation, military/veteran status, or any other status protected by Federal or State law or local ordinance.
