The Product Development Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the company's product development initiatives are achieved within agreed upon time and budget parameters. Development efforts will consist of both "new" products and systems, in addition to the enhancement of existing product lines. To ensure that development initiatives occur in the proper fashion, the Product Development Engineer will be expected to utilize proven product development processes, improving these processes where appropriate. What you will be doing:• Ensuring that product development initiatives are completed in an On-Time, Complete and Correct manner. • Ensuring that product development initiatives are completed within budget. • Acting as the chief coordinator between Vendors, Customers, outside Test Labs and internal resources while following the product development process. • Responsible for creating and energizing a "development team" for each major product initiative. • Creating initial product charter, ensuring appropriate return on investment, developing product strategy/context, designing and developing prototypes (includes tooling), administering prototype testing, scheduling and administering plant trial runs and ensuring advertising and promotional literature is ready for launch.What you need for this position:• Bachelors degree in Engineering field. • Minimum of five years experience in technical design/applications engineering. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Superb/outstanding people skills.
