Product Manager - Insurance Market

DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

 

Leads and executes individual product initiatives within a business unit.  Delivers high quality products on time, within budget, and that meet defined goals for the product.  Leads multi-functional teams to ensure product requirements are completed and technical requirements can be created.  Owns the product launch throughout its lifecycle, including the identification and initial diligence into business or technology partnerships.  Measurable contribution to the growth strategy of the business unit is important.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

· Develops and presents product requirements, including timelines and dependencies.

· Manages customer and internal requirements for existing and future products.

· Works with multi-functional resources so that product implementations are delivered according to plan.

· Develops a strong understanding of industry, client, and future prospect needs and opportunities.

· Researches and develops appropriate business and/or technology relationships as related to development of product initiatives.

· Assists in key sales opportunities.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

1.)  EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.  Graduate degree in business or engineering preferred.

 

2.)  EXPERIENCE:  3-5 years Product Management experience within the service industry, high tech or advanced CRM applications preferred.  Experience building and managing teams a plus

 

3.)  COMPLEXITY:  Must embrace change and have a passion for building great companies.  Self-directed; requires minimal supervision on work products.  Strong project management skills, detail-oriented with solid analytical skill.  Ability to develop business relationships and partnerships as needed. 

 

4.)  WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:  Frequent interaction with business unit manager as well as cross-functional managers and developers.

 

5.)  ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  Travel up to 20% of total time.  Evening or weekend hours may be required.
