Product Manager - ScanSource LA 2008-019

The Product Manager is responsible for the development and execution of vendor business plans to increase market share, sales, and profitability and maintaining levels of inventory for assigned vendor line(s) consistent with the business plan that maximize sales, inventory turns, and return on inventory.

 

Essential Job Duties:Creation, execution and on-going monitoring of vendor marketing/business plansMonitor actual performance in comparison to the established business plan for each supplier including Sales and GP$ goals and growth of market share.Drive vendor participation in marketing initiatives through 100% utilization of available cooperative marketing fundsActively work with vendor to uncover sources of additional marketing fundsFacilitate linkage with vendor field sales organizationsCoordinate with ScanSource sales and vendor representatives for any special pricing concessions. This applies to customer specific “meets competition” pricing as well as blanket special pricing authorizations for specific products.Act as focal point for assigned line(s) on any departmental issuesMaintain an accessible and responsive relationship with ScanSource sales teams.Coordinate asset management of assigned line(s), maintain proper inventory mix and levels, inventory turns, ROI, and order fill-rates.Process daily buys using ScanSource purchasing systemSet up new vendor part numbersOn an on-going basis, update ETA’s of outstanding purchase ordersManage and drive stock rotations on a timely basisMaintain all system SKU information (column pricing, part notes, price protection)Other duties as assigned

 

Reporting Relationships:Direct supervision given from Director of Merchandising or VPNo Direct ReportsDaily contact with vendor representatives, sales reps, accounts payable, and managementWill occasionally make presentations to both vendor and ScanSource Senior Management

 

Essential Requirements:

  Required:

·  High School/GED

·  Organizational Skills

·  Presentation Skills

·  Computer Skills (MS Office)

·  Previous Marketing or Sale's experience

Preferred

·  Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience (e.g. technology or distribution)

·  Negotiation Skills

 

Physical Requirements:Ability to sit a computer terminal for long periods of timeAbility to be physically in attendance at workstation at designated company office location during normal business hours designated for the positionAbility to travel up to 30 to 40 percent of the time
