Production Manager

We are seeking an experienced production manager to direct production activities associated with the profitable operation of an industrial blasting and coating facility.  Specialty Finishes blasts and coats all sizes and fabrics of materials and currently employs approximately fifty production workers.  The Production Manager will be responsible for complex scheduling from material coordination to packaging and shipping.  This position will be heavily focused on management of the production processes through supervisory level and quality assurance employees and be expected to make efficiency and quality improvements to create a profitable operation.  Specialty Finishes is expected to grow through efficient production and quality customer service into a high producing company.  We are looking for the right person to lead our production and further these goals.  The successful candidate will have a strong background in scheduling, planning and meeting production schedules and in providing the management oversight to accomplish tight goals.  Other essential talents include effective customer interaction.

 

Highlights of Key Responsibilities:Lead all phases of production including material coordination, process staging, packaging and shipping; simultaneously manage production for multiple orders with overlapping and tight delivery dates.  Review production orders to determine staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments. Schedule production activities and apply resources to meet workload requirements and delivery commitments.Analyze production, staff skills and training needs, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports to detect production problems. Confer with customers to confirm and clarify product expectations and address concerns or questions.

§ Select production employees and work with supervisors to assure employees are developed, trained and motivated.  Lead supervisory employees in managing hourly production staff and compliance with company policies and applicable employment, safety and environmental laws.

§ Continually review operating practices. Identify and implement measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of demonstrated successful experience in managing a production operation, including scheduling, maintaining strong customer relations, and applying continuous improvement and problem solving to improve production. Experience in a painting operation is considered a plus. Additionally, the ability to prepare and analyze reports, communicate effectively in writing and orally and make sense of complex product specifications is critical.
