Job Description: The Arizona Department of Education Information Technology section is seeking an Information Technology Specialist III. This individual will be responsible for software maintenance of existing applications and development of new applications to support operations at the Health and Nutrition Services unit of ADE.
The successful candidate will have professional experience developing n-tier web-based software systems for Microsoft server platforms, and can demonstrate proficiency in all of the following technical areas: T-SQL, SQL Server 2000, Visual Basic 6.0, COM+, ADO, XML, XSLT, IIS, ASP, VBScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Microsoft office products. Additional knowledge of .NET development platform is favorable. Candidates must also possess solid DB, OO, and UI design experience, and strong analysis, communication, collaboration, documentation, and time-management.
Knowledge needed:
* Knowledge and understanding of the software development lifecycle
Skills needed:
* Skills in system analysis and software design
* Skills in MS Visual Basic 6.0, MS SQL Server 2000, MS Windows
server technologies, Microsoft Office tools
* Skills in COM+ DLL design and development for statelessness,
transaction control, etc
* Skills in relational database design, development and coding (T-
SQL), optimization
* Skills in Web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and
platforms (IIS, ASP, VBScript)
* Skills in Extensible Markup Language (XML, XSD) and Extensible
Stylesheet Languages (XSL, XSLT, XPATH)
* Skills in software and systems troubleshooting and debugging
Ability needed:
* Abilities in user interface (UI) design, reporting, and technical
documentation
