Programmer

Large Government contractor is seeking a SQL Programmer to develop and support solutions using technologies and languages that include SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio, VB.NET, VB Script, Java Script, HTML, ASP, and Crystal Reports X. The position is full-time with a schedule of 7:30am to 4:00pm with ½ hour lunch break or 7:30am to 4:30pm with 1 hour lunch break. The start date is immediate.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

A successful candidate will participate in design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of enhancements to software applications and provide ongoing support of existing processes.  Candidate will be creating and modifying tables, fields, views, triggers, stored procedures, forms, reports, web pages, and custom applications.



Qualifications and Requirements
  Required Skills/Experience

· Database programming experience

· Report writing experience 

· Able to multi-task, meet deadlines, prioritize tasks

· Able to work with little supervision



Preferred Skills/Experience

· Technical skills

§ Experience in SQL (SQL Server 2005), VB.NET, VB Script, Java Script, and ASP.

§ Proficiency in Crystal Reports X or equivalent

§ Above average experience level with MS Excel and MS Access

§ Comfortable with learning how to use Counterpoint SQL Point of Sale software

· Communication skills

Written

§ Use comments when writing code in order to identify that portion’s function, track revisions and reasons, etc.

§ Assist in writing documentation of reports, processes, etc.

Oral

§ Must be able to present technical concepts clearly and in layman’s terms

· Problem Solver

§ Ability to analyze a problem and propose multiple possible solutions

· Must be able to work well with others to meet common goals
