Work with Program Managers to manage, and control a software application implementation project to ensure the overall success of the project. This is a complex and fast-paced environment with many new opportunities. MAJOR ACTIVITIES:20% Planning - Perform requirements analysis for new application software development and/or new client implementation projects. Work closely with technical teams to ensure client requirements are met. Author, maintain, and manage detailed project plans to support application software development, hardware installations, third party software implementations, and a variety of integration projects. 20% Scheduling and Estimating - Develop project schedule and planning documents. Perform risk analysis for projects, including mitigation strategies and contingency plans. 20% Tracking and Control - Responsible for managing multiple software integration or account implementation projects, giving clear direction to the team through functional specifications and requirements analysis. Also responsible for initial project cost estimates as well as working with project directors to manage budget. 20% Requirements & Testing - Facilitate and participate with functional research or design and sometimes creation of requirements documents. Provides oversight and direction for test planning, test results documentation and sometimes participates with testing phases. 20% Communication - Organize, conduct, and attend meetings with IT, business, and client. Create project planning documents by defining clear, attainable objectives and milestones. Manage client and internal budgetary expectations. Work with resource mangers to manage matrixed resources. Provide detailed weekly status reports on all active projects to management and client. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 -5 years in IT related to business applications development. Project management experience relevant to application software development life cycle is preferred. Experience using Microsoft Project or similar planning and scheduling tool. Practical experience working with various levels of management. Two or more years experience gathering or validating requirements in an IT software development environment. You will be expected to drive a project from beginning to end with minimum supervision. Exceptional multi-tasking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven track record of successful project completion of complex implementations. Experience in the managed care/pharmaceutical industry or experience with medical and/or pharmacy claims processing is preferred. The position is based in Richmond, Virginia. Less than 20% travel. EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience. Prefer candidates with PM certificate or coursework in project management that is consistent with PMBOK. 2+ years progressively responsible experience providing related client/project/contract administrative support. Must demonstrate strong organizational skills.
