Job Description:Dimension & Scope:Incumbent is responsible for the development organization and control of project materials schedules and costs for multiple to large-scale to the most complex highly visible projects. Function as a liaison between internal and external clients technical staff contractors and vendors from project conception to project completion. May provide subject matter expertise in technical areas such as telecommunications data communications information systems and technology infrastructure design administration security maintenance and support. Incumbent mentors junior project manager influences and drives project office ”best practices” and facilitates various technical steering committees. May manage project from a technical perspective either client driven or internal Convergys driven projects.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:• Independently develop the responsibilities and specifications for projects by identifying project phases and elements, studying project/client requirements, develop project teams, reviewing vendor/contractor bids and preparing cost estimates. • Develop, plan and manage implementation of multiple extremely complex technical projects with broad scope, high impact and variable implementation time frames (i.e., six weeks to several years).• Oversee the development of each aspect of projects resolving simple to the most complex technical issues. • Provide leadership and mentoring to Project Managers and others, both intra- and inter-departmentally to ensure complete, successful, cost-effective and on-time implementation of project deliverables and corporate initiatives. • Provide fiscal management of the projects within the capital and expense budgetary limits prescribed. • Provide workload balancing, prioritization, resource scheduling, and integration of multiple projects to ensure feasibility of schedule. • Lead and negotiate contract negotiation terms for Convergys with vendors, especially in the development of technical contract terms. • Ensure company interests are addressed by working closely with contract administration, legal and other support organizations ensuring the overall success of the project. • Ensure compliance with contractual and service level agreements. • Work directly with multiple technical vendors, external organizations, or customers. • Prepare and present executive briefings and make recommendations for executive action. • Develop and write project management documentation (i.e., project charters, project schedules, work breakdown structures, request for proposals/information, risk mitigation plans and communication plans).• Provide technical recommendations based on reviews of operational processes and procedures. • Provide in-depth research and analysis into new technologies and technology refreshes. • Manage client and vendor issues in relation to implementation decisions and preferences. • Anticipate and resolve management, resource and scheduling problems. • May function as the technical project manager on the implementation team that is led by the overall client implementation project manager or may serve as the overall client implementation project manager. • Coordinate interdepartmental and corporate technology initiatives and commitment to client programs. • Provide on-call technical support via pager, as required.Education & Professional Certifications:Movement into TCP Bachelor’s Degree in related technical discipline and Six years relevant experienceOr Master’s Degree in related technical discipline And Four years relevant experienceOr Eleven years relevant experience without college degree. Movement within TCP Minimum three years experience in B3 Level TCP position.
