Project Organizer - Laboratory
Project Organizer
Location: Melbourne, FL
Primary Duties
· Act as primary resource to CSO for personal and departmental project planning and implementation; Assists in the planning and execution of product development projects while adhering to budget, scope and schedule requirements
· Helps ensure consistent practices throughout all phases of the project life cycle. Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses.
· Install and coordinate proper and effective project management techniques, skills and methodology in the department as requested by the CSO
· Requires the ability to execute high quality, integrated cross-functional plans for projects.
· Assist the CSO to direct the transfer of the department’s annual strategic and operational objectives into effective project tracking plans
· Provide to the CSO, regular summary status reports for departmental project plans
· Other duties as assigned
· Creates and maintains an integrated project tracking plan (PP) aligned with defined objectives, giving due consideration to the balance between time and quality
· As requested by CSO, interacts with all appropriate lab personnel to ensure the timely development of R&D deliverables
· Day-to-day organization of CSO and department project tracking and organizational activities through the use of scheduling/budgeting tools such that project and department goals remain on track
· Applies best practices in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control and closing of projects.
· Interacts with research and development, marketing, manufacturing and regulatory departments.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· An advanced business degree or equivalent experience that enables full participation in and optimal contribution to defined duties of the position
· Relevant training and coursework in project management
·Should have at least two years of scientific or technology related experience utilizing PM methodology
· Experience in planning techniques, organizational systems and methodology is required
· Demonstrated ability to attend to detail and perform multiple complex tasks
· Works effectively in a changing environment and under stress
· Team player that has the ability to resolve conflict
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to use these skills effectively in a multifunctional environment
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
· High level of initiative and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Environmental & Physical Demands:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
· Employee will be required to sit for extended periods of time at a desk/and or computer, and must be able to walk and stand as needed
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
· Maintain forty (40) hours per week performance level, plus additional hours as job requires
· Employee may be subject to duration of stress within the working environment
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
