Property Claims Unit Manager

Job Description:The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Property Claim Unit Manger at our headquarters in Worcester, MA.Requirements:Manage and supervise Property Adjusters based on best practices. Strong focus on regulatory compliance, and on managing initiatives and driving results within the team environment. Responsibilities: Conducts case reviews and evaluates Adjusters performance by continuous review of claims statistics, open and closed file evaluations, audits and observation of office activities. Supervise 10 person unit, responsible for property damage claims. Development of staff; substantive and procedural guidance on all staff issues Assist offices throughout the country when weather related catastrophes occur. Position may require absences from home for extended periods to adjust claims on site or telephone adjusting depending on the nature of the catastrophe. Identify and communicate information regarding property issues with staff as well as other business units Review property files to provide direction and feedback on an on-going basis Maintain an active diary system to include the most difficult and financially significant cases within the team Ability to deal with all levels of the organization, execute service standards and manage activities in accordance with Business Rules and Best Practices Candidate must possess ability to supervise people effectively and provide business and technical direction. Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years related experience including liability and subrogation adjusting. Supervision experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Access and ability to toggle between multiple applications and adapt to new software Strong focus on regulatory compliance, and on managing initiatives and driving results within the team environment. Leadership, property technical experience, analytical and strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
