QA Engineer

Deluxe Digital Studios (DDS) is a leading provider of home entertainment post-production services, including subtitling and localization, video compression, encoding, authoring as well as menu design and content production. DDS is a global company with presence in 6 countries. Our clients are some of the largest studios and production companies in Hollywood. We currently have a great opportunity available for a Quality Assurance Engineer.  This position will be located in Burbank, CA.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 Must have strong understanding of Java programming languageMust be able to use tools like JUnit for testing Java CodeMust be able to plan, develop, and execute test cases for Blu-ray player applications written in Blu-ray Disc Java code Must perform  API tests based on BD-Java code Must  use/write custom test tools to test the Java based player codeMust be familiar with Web Services Testing, Xml transaction testing,database testingIndividual should be able find creative ways to automate the testing of Blu-ray player codeMust create effective documentation of best practices for testing new applications. Individual will perform Emulation and Check Disc QC of Authored BD disc images.Duties require an accurate and methodical approach to testing, as well as a very focused and detailed attention to techniques used to encounter issues.Work with BD Authors to test new code designs and templates before implementation into everyday projects.Use DDS Checklists to verify compliance of DDS product to client specifications and Bill of Materials.Must be able to isolate, recreate, and report bugs and verify fixes.Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

 B.S in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent in related fieldStrong Experience in testing Java based clientsNice to have some hands on java programming experience3 + years experience in software quality assurance in enterprise server software development and/or Microsoft Windows software applications in C++, C#, ASP.NETExpertise with QA processes, writing and executing test plans and test cases, maintaining bug databases and verifying fixes. Individual must be capable of working in a fast-paced, small team environment with hard deadlines.Individual must create their own quality control procedures for testing and approving BD projects.Individual must be very organized, detail-oriented and focused.Individual must possess solid verbal and written communication skills.Individual must realize the necessity and importance of accountability through written documentation.Basic computer skills (PC) are required (e.g. Word, Excel, email, copying files to various media, etc.)
