Quality Assurance Test Manager (0532)

Job Description:BASIC FUNCTION: As part of M&T’s Quality Assurance Test Group within Central Technology, the Quality Assurance Test Manager would provide both short and long term strategic direction for the department ensuring direction is in line with the goals of the division and overall bank strategy. Responsible for managing QA Testing project relationships internally and externally to include both on & off shore.RESPONSIBILITIES: The QA Test Group assists Central Technology in operating more efficiently through centralization of expertise, standardizing test processes, and managing the acquision and sharing of software licenses. The group works with the Project Management Office to define test roles and processes within project management and develop methodologies to ensure standardizations achieve efficiencies. Manage the day-to-day activities of Test Group Resources Develop quality assurance testing strategy, as well as short and long term goals Evaluate acquire, implement and supports test tools and test services to provide efficiencies through centralized subject matter expertise and products Manage test vendor relationships to reduce costs Performs budgeting and other departmental administrative tasks Exercise managerial authority over staff with respect to staffing, performance management, salary recommendations, employee developmentBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree or above in CIS or related technical field or 4+ years experience in quality assurance and/or relevant project management Experience in distributed and mainframe software development life cycle methodologies, application technologies and test processes Strong written and verbal communication skills to be able to present to target audience Minimum of ten (10) years overall experience to include a minimum of five (5) years testing and at least three (3) years of project management Strong knowledge of testing tools (Mercury, Winrunner, Loadrunner, Quality Center or Segue)IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with managing offshore test teams Experienced in defect tracking tools and test metrics reporting Strong understanding of Technology Application Architectures/Languages Working knowledge of Technology Infrastructure & Information Security With over 140 years of experience, M&T Bank is considered one of the most highly regarded regional banks in the country.
