RELEASE ENGINEER

Read below for details! Responsibilities: Lead release engineering efforts for all Agile development teams Develop and manage continuous builds Manage and support shared development and test environments Judiciously select and automate key deployment, configuration, monitoring and management processes Provide third-level technical support, troubleshooting and bug fixing for selected customer problems Communicate with peers and management to assess needs, designs and progress Expert version control/release management knowledge and administration Deploy releases into and help support the production environment   Qualifications: 5+ Years professional build or release engineering experience 3-5 Years experience with standard Unix/Linux build and deployment tools (make, ant, RPM, yum, rsync, etc.) At least one year software development experience on a medium to large team using a third generation (C, C++, Java) or scripting (PHP, Perl, Python) language in a Unix environment Proficient with Unix shell scripting and system administration An understanding of relational database structure and queries (SQL) Experience using and administering some source control management system: Perforce, CVS, Subversion, ClearCase, PVCS, BitKeeper Ability to quickly discharge many concurrent tasks  Bonus Points: Fundamental understanding of WWW programming, including Web server configuration and Internet protocols (HTTP, SOAP) and declarative languages (XML, HTML) Experience automating builds within a test-driven development (TDD) process Familiarity with agile programming methodologies, such as XP, Scrum, or Crystal Clear Experience with test automation tools (JUnit, HTTPUnit, PHPUnit, SimpleTest, Selenium, etc.) Advanced Unix system and/or network administration experience Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field  key words: http, xml, html, shell, scripting, release, http, xml, html, shell, scripting, release, http, xml, html, shell, scripting, release, http, xml, html, shell, scripting, release, http, xml, html, shell, scripting, release, http, xml, html, shell, scripting, release, http, xml, html, shell, scripting, release, http, xml, html, shell, scripting, release, http, xml, html, shell, scripting, release, http, xml Position Title: RELEASE ENGINEER Company: The Select Group Location: Raleigh, NC 27607 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: IT/Software Development Contact: Paige Goss Email: Apply by Email
