Recreation Manager

Metro Parks Tacoma is seeking a Recreation Manager to manage the planning, organization, administration and direction of assigned recreation divisions; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; provide leadership in the administration of the overall departmental organization; and conduct special tasks and reports as requested by the Department Director.  This position may act as the Director in his/her absence.  This position will be responsible for supervising the areas of sports, aquatics, fitness, wellness, youth services (middle school after school program, playground program, summer camps) and the Centre at Norpoint (a multipurpose center).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

§ Education: Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Program Administration, Recreation or related field.

§ Experience: Any combination equivalent to: five (5) years experience in recreation with increasingly responsible supervisory experience.

§ Licenses and Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license.  Ability to obtain a valid First Aid and CPR Card within the probationary period.
