Supervises a group of Packaging Service Technicians, to provide technical support and service to packaging equipment customers within an assigned geographic area. Ensures customer service agreements are met, services and support are provided in a complete and cost effective manner, and employees operate safely and competently in the performance of their duties.

Job ResponsibilitiesSupervise packaging tech staff, including: Managing concurrent projects and assignments on time and to specs, accomplishing goals by working through others Determining appropriate staffing levels and positions and selecting staff Establishing goals and objectives with staff; communicating performance expectations Maintains high level communication with the dispatch team that schedules and assigns work Monitoring and coaching work performance; rewarding and recognizing performance Maintaining all required employee records pertaining to budgets, expenses and payroll P & L responsibilities o Ensuring employee and product safety Providing job and skill development opportunities Managing employees in remote locations Manage packaging equipment support services, including: Ensuring professional, cost effective, complete technical equipment maintenance and installation support to customers and sales reps Promoting and maintaining development of customer service agreements Working directly with internal and external customers to develop service opportunities Working with internal and external customers and vendors to coordinate start-up and maintenance of packaging equipment Coordination of all regional pre-start-up meetings Communicate development of emerging technologies in the packaging industry Maintain highest levels of packaging equipment maintenance practices and standards Developing and providing product demonstrations Ensuring appropriate service tracking, costing and billing Maintaining required personnel records Coordinating and communicating across work functions and locations Required Skills

5+ years experience in the packaging industry in sales, sales engineer, or related positionsExperience with providing custom packaging solutions Management experience (2+ years)Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Mechanical, IE or related CAD design experience is preferredSuccessful track record of growing a territory and sales Experience providing custom products and consultative sales solutions based on providing value, not just price drivenAbility and track record of developing and executing a sales plan to reach target accountsInnovative problem solver; recognizing customer needs, providing alternatives and selling and implementing alternative solutionsStrong presentation skillsExcellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills.  Ability to work independently. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Travel required: 30-50% travel to meet sales objectives.Proven success in key account and relationship management required Experience guiding and directing an independent sales rep network Experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills. Skill in working independently coordinating and directing the work of others. Skill sets must include the ability to work with spreadsheets, word processing, email, data base management, maintaining files and records. The ability to allocate finite resources to accomplish assigned work. Must have knowledge of all consumable related items for machines. Must have the ability to do complex problem solving involving numerous suppliers of machinery and materials. Must have a working knowledge of complex machinery and a background sufficient to facilitate, fabrication, PLC programming, welding, and assembly of machines. Must be able to successfully complete a mechanical/electrical aptitude test as administered by Unisource. Requires the ability to execute duties with a high sense of urgency and a great degree of sensitivity when dealing with internal and external customers. Must have the ability to prioritize effectively. Must possess a valid driver's license.
