Research Director, Center On Executive Compensation
HR Policy Association is a public policy organization representing the chief human resource officers of approximately 250 Fortune 500 companies. The Association is known for routinely tackling the major public policy and practice issues facing senior human resource vice presidents. One of those is executive compensation, and the Association recently created the Center On Executive Compensation (www.execcomp.org). It takes a principles-based approach to advocating a corporate perspective on executive compensation to the public, policymakers, the media, and the Center’s members.
Responsibilities
The Research Director will be responsible for executing the Center’s research and policy analysis function and will work with the Association's president, the Association's director who chairs the Executive Compensation Policy Roundtable, the Board of Directors, and the Center's Executive Vice President for Policy to conduct research, monitor trends and develop information for use in the Center’s advocacy activities.
Reporting Relationship
The position will be based in Washington, DC, and report to the President of HR Policy Association and to the Executive Vice President of the Center On Executive Compensation.
Personal Characteristics
The successful candidate will:
· Have five years of professional experience working in the field of financial analysis, preferably in dealing with equity compensation, and should be proficient in regression analysis, trends analysis, and ideally having also worked within either a consulting firm or a publicly held corporation.
· Have exceptional research and analytical skills.
· Have the ability to spot advocacy opportunities along with the initiative to capitalize on them in a timely manner.
· Enjoy working with a diverse group of volunteers.
· Be knowledgeable or interested in the field of executive compensation.
· Have highly developed writing and presentation skills.
Education
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience. A CPA, MBA and/or law degree is preferred.
