Research Graphics Specialist

The chief objective for this position is to work collaboratively with the client services teams in a market research and consulting organization to improve the overall quality, accuracy and aesthetics of our custom research project deliverables. Requires experience with developing creative and visually appealing report content with critical focus on custom graphs, charts and tables depicting unique, project-specific data. Willing to provide support at many levels including basic production and proofreading to ensure high-quality deliverables are produced in a timely manner. Create and maintain client deliverable templates and some web-based material/content as appropriate and provide training to research support members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Work with research directors and project managers to increase data readability, aesthetics, and within-team consistency in client deliverables

•  Add value with professional graphics, charts and tables and thoughtful diagrams and layouts – proactively suggest visually appealing portrayals of data and text

•  Work with statisticians/data programmers to raise effectiveness and accuracy in data delivery for both custom and automated reporting

•  Work collaboratively to provide production support and quality checks (i.e., proofing) when time permits

•  Train others where needed to improve quality of deliverables

•  Maintain and update business collateral; assist with corporate Website maintenance

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  Demonstrated experience in research graphics/publishing-related field. Previous experience producing report deliverables for a research or advertising agency desired. Strong computer skills and ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to learn new skills and impart abilities to others.

SOFTWARE SKILLS:  Expert with MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Word specifically); desired experience with Visio, Publisher, xCelsius (interactive charting), Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Dreamweaver (or similar web software).  Some experience with SPSS desired. Knowledge of how to read data tabulations a plus.
