Resource Consultant - San Diego Deloitte Services LP provides a wide variety of internal support services to Deloitte LLP and its subsidiaries and their people. An overall understanding of quality client service, a proven track record of working in multifunctional teams and across multiple geographies, strong business acumen and the instinct to think and act globally are essential for advancement within Deloitte Services LP.   Job Overview:   Deloitte Services LP currently has an opening for a Resource Consultant to manage the scheduling and assignment planning for Deloitte LLP professionals in the San Diego office on a 50% full time work schedule. This entails assigning staff on clients in order to meet the commitment to deliver quality service and to provide professional development opportunities while also maintaining the goal of maximum utilization of professionals. Serve as a key contact with Partners, Senior Managers, and Managers to successfully address all issues relating to staff assignments. Counsel professionals on career development issues and participate in the annual review process.  - Balance the needs of staff and clients for the purpose of maximizing utilization and the experience of the staff - Assign staff to clients while considering HR related issues in resource management (e.g. travel, work/life balance, diversity initiatives) - Develop alternatives and recommendations for resolving scheduling imbalances - Assign staff to clients to ensure skill development, provide developmental opportunities including organizational programs and cross-discipline engagements - Work closely with other Resource Consultants and Regional Resource Manager in helping meet staffing requirements inother offices within the region - Negotiate client assignment conflicts to the satisfaction of all parties - Counsel staff on career development issues; provide feedback to management on staff performance and objectives - Administer performance and evaluation programs by facilitating and making recommendations at the evaluation meetings - Orient new employees on policies and procedure - Assist in various related functions (i.e. global assignments, headcount, budgeting and management, etc.) - Assist with monthly projections, review of staff utilization report, and reallocation of mis-coded client charges - B.A. degree and a minimum of 3-5 years in a client serving capacity and/or HR experience preferred. - Strong communication and analytical skills.  - Word processing, Excel spreadsheet and related software skills - Negotiation and conflict resolution skills - The ability to organize, evaluate and assess data, then make appropriate recommendations based on this review - Must be able to identify and respond to both operational and human resource issues within the practice About DeloitteDeloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, and its network of member firms, each of which is a legally separate and independent entity.
