SERVICE MANAGER

Looking for a recession-proof job?   SERVICE MANAGER

 

Waltham Services is looking for you – that is if you can lead, manage, and grow a service business. You have to be good at hiring, developing, and managing field technicians – this is job one.  Developing routing for field service personnel and performing on-site inspections and visiting key customers are also important responsibilities.  You also need a pretty decent knowledge of MS Office so you can create letters and memos in Word and use Outlook for e-mail.

You have to be comfortable learning and using new technologies but we’re not looking for a techie – this position is about helping people – your coworkers and customers, and the greatest amount of your time will be spent in the field. 



 

If you’re a great manager, we will consider you even if you don’t have industry experience, but you would have to be super special, and a quick study. If you’re looking for a manage-by-numbers job, this position is not for you. If you like leading-by-example, where success depends on helping others, hands-on, in the field, you should be talking to us! 


REQUIREMENTS
We expect you to look out for your customers, so we look out for you.  You can expect a strong starting salary, plus performance bonuses.  You will have a company vehicle, a gas card and a cell phone.  You will also have health, dental and life insurance, 401k and pension retirement plans, and paid time off (holidays, sick days and vacation).  Work hours are typically 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM but can vary during our busy season in the spring and summer, and an occasional Saturday is also required.

ABOUT YOU

We don’t hire just anyone!  To qualify, you will have a Bachelor’s degree and/or five or more years experience in service management, preferably in the industry.  You must have strong skills in coaching, directing the activities of others, teambuilding, using disciplinary procedures, conducting performance appraisals, and planning and prioritizing work.  You are capable of bending, stooping, kneeling, lots of walking, and able to carry up to 50 lbs.  You have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record for the past 3 years.  We perform pre-employment drug screen, physical fitness, criminal background, and a driving record review.
