Centers of excellence include: Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Women's and Children's Services, and Level III NICU. Under the general direction of the Operations Manager - Diagnostic Imaging Services, the Supervising Radiologic Technologist has overall responsibility for the performance within their assigned area(s) and/or shift, 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. He/she is capable of performing a full range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations and procedures in that area or shift. The Supervising Radiologic Technologist provides technical expertise and supervision for the diagnostic imaging staff of Ultrasound, Echocardiography, Stress Lab, EKG, EEG, and Nuc. Med. modalities of the hospital diagnostic imaging department, and may be responsible for the activities of the entire diagnostic imaging department in the absence of the Operations Manager - DIS. The Supervisor provides training for their staff, maintains quality control, maintains quality assurance reports, maintains an adequate inventory of supplies, is responsible for equipment maintenance program, assists with budgeting processes, and is responsible for inspections from governing bodies for compliance with JCAHO and State regulations. The Supervising Radiologic Technologist is responsible for staffing their area which includes interviewing, recommending for hire, staff scheduling, validating timesheets, performance evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary measures. Valid RDMS, RVT or Echocardiography Certificate required. . CPR certification required. Associate Degree in health science is preferred or equivalent experience. Minimum 4 years as an Ultrasonographyer in an acute care hospital setting. One year supervisory experience with additional management traing required, or three years supervisory experience without management training certificate.
