SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Software Developer with the Following Qualifications:BS in Engineering or Computer ScienceAt least 3 to 5 years experience as a Systems Engineer or Software Engineer using at least two of the following:

C#, SQL, ASP.NET, VB.NETIntermediate Level Knowledge of Windows (2K Professional, 2K Server, XP, & 2K3 Server)PC Networking and Protocols (TCP/IP, Telnet, 802.11)SQL Server or Oracle – Must be comfortable with configuration, programming, and maintenance of Tables, Views, Stored Procedures, and Triggers.Intermediate Level Microsoft Office Usage

 

Experience in the Following a Plus:

Experience with handheld PC’s (HHP, Symbol, DAP, Intermec, etc)

Experience with Windows CE and/or Windows Mobile

Bar Coding Equipment (Scanners & Printers)

Supply Chain Management

RFID

Wireless Security (RADIUS, LEAP, PEAP, etc)

 

Job Purpose:

Develops information system solutions by incorporating information gathered from studying operations, specifications, feature requests, and prior solutions either singly or as part of a software team.  Must be ‘a team player’, and must be able to code as part of a team.  Develops, Installs, Maintains, and Supports those solutions throughout their lifecycle:  Some of these solutions currently incorporate legacy software.

 

Duties:Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming. Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures. Updates job knowledge by studying both existing and state-of-the-art development tools and solutions, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues. Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Supports and develops software team by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.
