Position Description:
Scholastic Book Fairs works with schools across the country to host more than 120,000 annual reading events, connecting more than 55 million children with great books each year. Book Fairs foster enthusiasm for reading, while helping to build school and classroom libraries by providing students, teachers and parents access to thousands of books and educational products at affordable prices. We are in need of a Sales Consultant (Inside Sales Representative) to support our Book Fairs territories. Responsibilities include:Responsible for scheduling events in schools within assigned territory to meet goals and objectives.Work closely with school contact to achieve optimum sales, by promotion of all sales programs and services offered.Increase fair count by achieving second fair booking goals within the same school year.Develop customer relationships with school Chairperson and other school personnel by providing sales support and services as needed.Achieve new school event bookings on fairs as assigned by territory goals.Understand the complete array of product and services being offered to the customer.Attend Scholastic Book Fairs exhibits, events, school fairs, etc. as assigned and required by management.Maintain current, accurate sales/service records of individual activity within assigned territory.Attend all regularly scheduled sales meetings as determined by management.Maintain business confidentiality relative to pricing, promotion, customer lists, and methods of distribution.Represent Scholastic Book Fairs in a manner that assures our customer is delighted with our product, process, and services.Develop expertise on our product, merchandising, and services in order to offer each customer the best guidance on conducting bigger and better events.Positively impact the performance of assigned Book Fairs and internal team members.Support our mission to encourage reading and promote lifelong learning, and demonstrate our values of caring and respect for all people.Perform all other sales duties as assigned by manager.Our generous full time benefits include career opportunities, competitive salaries and comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription) as well as 401(k) and pension plans and a 50% employee discount!
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts or Science or equivalent relevant experience in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or related field.Minimum of two years of proven successful sales experience in telephone sales, personal selling, and customer service.Proven ability to build and grow revenue while adding value for customers.Proficiency with MS Office software; experience with Sales Automation, Customer Relationship Management or web based software programs.Familiarization with children's literature, book fairs, school activities is desired. Ability to execute a vision, manage multiple priorities, and achieve results.Strong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated customer orientation over the telephone.Outstanding interpersonal skills with peers, superiors (cross functional and throughout the organization) and customers.EOE/AA/H/V/DFWP
