At Millennium, we're big on results, not formality.Position Summary:The Lead Discovery (LD) Group at Millennium Pharmaceuticals is intimately involved in early drug discovery activities including assay validation and configuration for HTS, hit validation, compound lead identification and optimization. LD scientists also provide strong technical support and manage data flow to reinforce key decision points of projects. The LD scientists work in close collaboration with colleagues in Biochemistry, Molecular & Cellular Oncology and Chemistry to advance early Discovery stage projects from target validation all of the way through to preclinical development candidate.Duties and Responsibilities:1.Routinely develop biochemical and cell-based assays to support small molecule lead identification.2.Execution of high through-put screening efforts on MPI proprietary targets.3.Manage primary and secondary assay data to support decisions on candidate compounds.Qualifications:Preferred Qualifications: A PhD (2-8 years) in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related life science discipline, or an MS (8-10 years) or similar experience. 2+ years in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment dedicated to the characterization of small molecule candidates in early drug discovery stage. The successful candidate will have related pharmaceutical experience in assay development, SOP generation & the ability to work both independently and as part of an integrated team.Basic Qualifications: A PhD (2-8 years) in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related life science discipline, or an MS (8-10 years) or similar experience. 2+ years in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.Click here to immediately applyWant to learn more about us?
