Seasoned Business Analyst / Data Analyst with Financial and Investment Banking Experience

Job Description:Genesis10 is looking for a Business Analyst / Data Analyst for a major client in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. In this role, you will need 6+ years experience in Business Analysis / Data Analysis, market/exchanges coverage, gap analysis etc and must have Financial and Investment Banking experience. Must be a hands-on, pro-active troubleshooter who can rapidly identify business problems, formulate strategic plans, initiate change and implement new processes in a challenging and diverse environment. As the Business Analyst / Data Analyst, you will work closely with the business, development and quality assurance teams to both define and quantify data requirements.Job Experience:Required Skills/Experience:- 6+ years experience in Business Analysis / Data Analysis, market/exchanges coverage, gap analysis etc.- Financial and Investment banking experience is a must.- Strong in Business and User Requirement Gathering and Analysis, and in converting them into User Requirement Specifications (URS).- Ability to document all procedures.- Good understanding of all phases of the iterative SDLC.- Extensive experience in identifying, analyzing, designing, developing and implementing innovative business processes and system solutions for financial institutions using various tools.- Functional Requirement Specification (FRS) utilizing various tools.- Strong exposure with creation and implementation of Test Cases, Test Plans for GUI Functionality testing using testing tools like Mercury Interactive Win Runner and Test Director.- Strong team building, conflict management, time management and meeting management skills.- Must be able to write clear and understandable requirements around data.- Must have strong working experience with security reference data.- Must have strong working experience with data feeds like Bloomberg, Reuters, Telecurs and Thomson Financial.- Demonstrated ability to meet commitments.- Work as a key contributor in a cohesive and highly productive team.- BA in finance, IS Information Systems or equivalent.Preferred Skills/Experience:- SQL Query writing using DBArtisan/AquaData Studio on Sybase.- Microsoft Office including Excel, Access and PowerPoint.- Knowledge of Fixed Income & Equity.- Knowledge of Bloomberg Back Office and/or Reuters Feed Files.- Understanding of Structured Products, Options and Pricing.This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative and growing enterprise.
