Senior Business Analyst

Job Decription: 
RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with internal teams to align technology solutions with business strategies.
Supports several business processes. Knowledge of design or integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business a plus. Serves as a coordinator of enhancement efforts which may involve other CRS or BL ITEC teams.
Responsible for the collection, analysis and documentation of a client's business requirements. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Establishes liaison relationship with business partners in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
Participates in planning sessions with a client to implement process improvement within an assigned client area. Generally involves using and improving information systems. Documents discussion and agreements..
Understands client's priorities of projects and requests. Assesses client needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to prioritize immediate business needs and recommends options, risks and cost vs. benefits.
Conducts feasibility studies and drafts proposals for evaluation by appropriate users and managers. Develops and assists in the presentation of business cases.
Develops, writes, and communicates business requirements for the implementation of business solutions. Procures technical assistance to help in problem resolution.
Develops user test cases and validates test results during user acceptance testing.
Investigates, resolves and escalates problems.
Promotes an understanding of IT roles, processes and activities to the business units. Supports and participates in the formal reporting of project status  Anticipates potential problems and plan accordingly.
Coordinates new applications support with relevant parties of ITEC.
Participate/Coordinate relevant applications role in firm wide projects (disaster recovery, GLS initiatives).
Availability to be on call for application system problems after standard business hours.


TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required/Must have:

Trouble-shooting/Analytical skills
Analytical ability to find the business rules as captured in data attributes -Competent in all the suite MicroSoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Desired/Plus:

Knowledge of database technology / SQL; PL/SQL

BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE
Required/Must have:
Knowledge of some financial products.
Knowledge of the securities industry & related compliance / regulations

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Required/Must have:
Requires more than 8 years of relevant business analysis work experience for a financial institution.

Desired/Plus:
Knowledge of technical concepts a plus.

EDUCATION
Required/Must have:
BA with a degree in Finance
Concentration in Information Technology

Desired/Plus:

Conversational French a plus.
