They form the foundation of our SUPERVALU Advantage - the key to our continuing success.Title: Senior Consultant - Leadership Development PURPOSEProvides consultative services to internal clients to develop a more comprehensive plan to optimize human resource talent including development and deployment of leadership training and development programs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Design and implementation of innovative company-wide leadership development programs that support building key talent pools across the enterprise Providing consultation to business units and corporate functions on leading-edge leadership development practices and programs Educating HR leaders on corporate talent management programs and processes: for example, assessment, leadership development, succession planning Supporting Work Based Learning program for mid-level associates with further leadership potential Providing one-on-one coaching and development to mid-level associates with further leadership potential Researching best practices in areas impacting development of talent: on-boarding, leadership development, succession planning, etc. and incorporating key learnings into SUPERVALU assessment and leadership development approaches, processes and programs Proactively building a strong network of content experts/resources in areas related to job responsibilities in an effort to stay on the leading edge of the field, introduce new thinking into talent management, and have resources to draw on, as needed, to execute initiatives Supporting the design, development and implementation of leadership and organization initiatives set forth by Talent Management leadership.JOB REQUIREMENTSRelevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree required (psychology, organization development, business or related field); masters degree preferred. Evidence of ongoing learning and development activities over course of career Experienced professional who is a proactive learner; advancement potential preferred. At least five plus years of experience in talent management program/training design and implementation, and at least three plus years experience working one-on-one with individuals/talent pools around career and development Demonstrated skill at identifying, introducing, and implementing innovative organization solutions and leadership programs Strong business and customer focus Strong decision making and execution skills Strong internal consulting skills – ability to build strong collaborative relationships with customers, identify and anticipate customer needs, influence, marshal necessary resources, design practical solutions and deliver on commitments. Customers should seek out this individual’s expertise and ask to work with him/her. Excellent communication/facilitation skills: active listening, clear, direct, succinct spoken and written communications Strong presentation/delivery skills; professional impact and maturity Puts needs of organization/business and associate development above own Objective in sizing up mid management talent.
