Job SummaryThis position will be responsible for serving as one of Wyeth’s content experts in Safety and Health related issues. This position will work in conjunction with other team members to implement new systems and programs aimed to improve Wyeth’s EH&S performance. Makes decisions on EHS matters that affect Company operations, procedures, and occupational exposures. Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the performance of a variety of technical and health and safety activities, directly and by supervision, required in support of corporate and plant Health & Safety, customer support, and company objectives.Initiates and facilitates EHS reviews of both existing and new processes and facilities to achieve regulatory compliance and reduce risks to the business. Work with domestic and international facilities to correct deficiencies and maintain compliance with local legislative and company requirements. Perform risk evaluations and compliance audits on equipment and processes to characterize potential exposures to systems policies and programs as identified and assigned. Must have the ability to analyze technical content and presents ideas, solutions, and other EHS information to managing directors, business unit vice presidents, and other senior-level managers through both verbal and written communication.Serve as a content expert for Safety & Health related issues including hazard communication, ergonomics, hearing conservation, respiratory protection and indoor ventilation.Basic QualificationsBS in either: Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical) from an accredited university. A minimum of 5 years working experience working as a full time Health & Safety Professional in the Pharmaceutical or similar industry.Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) desired.Must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations and exposure guidelines.Must be outgoing with excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Time management and project management skills.Relocation is not available for this position.
