The position will also play a major role in new product development and product transfer teams and will work with factory staff to investigate and rectify any issues that may arise during or after product manufacture.Job ResponsibilitiesCreation of new Master Formula (MF) documents or revision of current MF documents which includes: Investigation/root cause analysis of issues surrounding product and raw material data. Ensuring Master Formula recipe complies with several market regulations in order to maximize availability of one recipe to several markets – resulting in increased efficiency and profitability within the manufacturing facility. Ensuring Master Formula recipe contains ingredients that not only deliver nutrient levels to meet target nutrient label claims and nutrient release criteria, but also work together to create a quality product acceptable in sensory and physical properties. Ensuring label information (nutrient claims and levels and ingredient declarations) is accurate and appropriate for use by all markets receiving product manufactured from the Master Formula recipe. Evaluation of raw material nutrient composition through statistical analysis and ensure data on raw materials is accurate, current and complete.Evaluation of finished product data in order properly assign nutrient fortification and meet nutrient target levels.Review of label information, drafted by Global Packaging Services, against the Master Formula for accuracy.Provide affiliates and internal departments with information pertaining to Master Formulations.Basic Qualifications:This position requires an Undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering (preferably), Chemistry or Food Science, heavily based on quantitative courses such as math and statistics. Masters degree preferred.Training in the Formulation software Optiva is required.Experience in spreadsheet data manipulation and with advanced formulation software (preferably Optiva) is required. Must have at least 6 years experience working in an analytical occupation associated with the manufacture of nutritional products.Relocation is not available for this position.
