Join us and make a difference in your community.Job SummaryThe Senior Marketing Analyst position will assist in the execution of the Waste Management strategic business plan. This will include activities to coordinate the specific tactics into an overall departmental strategy. This position will have primary responsibility to perform market research & analysis for Waste Management customers and prospects. This research will include the use of web searches, company licensed tools, industrial specific materials and periodicals, and customer interviews to establish trends within customers’ industries and market opportunities for Waste Management. The primary objective of these efforts is to help the sales & marketing organization target their efforts on high potential and high profit business opportunities. In addition to compiling data, this position will be required to interpret the data into a meaningful fashion and will act in an advisory position to the sales & marketing organization.This position will interact routinely with Sales, and periodically with other departments including: Finance, Pricing, Customer Service, IT, Organic Growth and Legal. In addition, this position could interact with customers and prospects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. Analyze and interpret data into meaningful information to that prioritizes opportunities for campaigns focusing on high margin, high potential accounts Support corporate marketing applications from the business perspective Assist in the implementation of the strategic business plan, including tool development and integration. Perform ad-hoc data analysis and data pulls as requested Conduct “deep dive” analysis to segment customers, prioritize those segments and perform industry research on targeted segments to forecast customer opportunities Provide and manage the financial analyses and scenario modeling for the positioning of new opportunities under the direction of departmental senior management Interface with Sales, Pricing, Upstream and Organic Growth organizations. Project management assistance - track initiative success and update selected tactic end products. Research, prepare, and present written and verbal reports on internal environmental and strategic topics. Assist in the setup and management of a development process that expedites the identification, development, evaluation and approval of new business opportunities. Assist with the design, development and the implementation of an organizational metrics system and dashboard. Must be well versed in advanced usage of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in special projects. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements 1 - 3 years of market research. 1 - 3 years of market analysis experience. Ability to work with new analytical models (statistical, simulation and others) Ability to develop financial models Ability to conduct in depth industry research Must be able to assess and analyze financial conditions of clients and the industry trends. Strong written, oral and written communication skills Group presentation skills Ability to work well with staff at all levels and cross functional teams Project management, leadership, and extreme ability to multi-task and prioritizeC. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities RequiredAbility to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
