Job Description:SUMMARY Plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs by performing the following duties.Provide baseline support for the Autonomy environment.Work with Autonomy to resolve any operational issues and bug fixes. Care and feed of the Autonomy infrastructure and be proactive to identify and resolve any issues that arise during day-to-day operations.Participate in meetings to review the design/solution and make recommendations based on the current infrastructure. Work with development and business teams to deploy new search jobs in our environment. Install and configure different Autonomy components (Idol, Dish, Http Fetch, Documentum Fetch, and File System Fetch).Read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn ways to develop programs that meet user requirements.Performs technical analysis of existing applications, programs, business processesConfigure Autonomy spiders and fetchesTroubleshoot the configuration of the Autonomy software to optimize performance and resultsWork with Content Manager to evaluate and implement Autonomy configurationsIntegrate Java applications on a Sun Solaris environment with Autonomy running on Intel platformLead requirements and analysis sessions with application end-users.Document business processes, program logic, application code, and system processesMaintain and write application programs based upon user gathered specificationProvide technical and end-user support on the Autonomy search technologyAnalyze, review, and alter programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.Detail oriented taking ownership of tasks, insuring completion, and keeping management apprised of progress.Recreate steps taken by user to locate source of problem and rewrites program to correct errors.Train users to use application programs and provide technical assistance.Install and test application programsMonitor performance of application programs after implementation.Travel as needed throughout the year for training, conferences, and the likeHigh level Java knowledgeWrite and maintain application programs using Java would be a plusOther Data processing responsibilities as assigned.On-call supportOn-call per published schedule (typically 10 to 12 weeks per year)On-call coverage is from 5:00 pm Thursday to 5:00 pm the following ThursdayPager must be worn or carried 24x7 during the on-call periodMust be within 15 minutes of phone service to respond to a callMust respond to a page within 15 minutes of receiptMust be within 30 minutes of access to an internet enabled computer to research, locate, and correct the issue (internet enabled loaner laptops are available)Must be within one hour drive to the office in the event that the issue requires attention at the officeResponsible for seeing the call through to resolution.
