We are adding to our Quality Assurance Department and looking for Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team.  This position will create and implement test plans and procedures based on specific project documentation. This involves review and comprehension of functional requirements including use sequence diagrams and use case specifications. The Sr. QA Engineer is responsible to ensure software bugs are reported, tracked and resolved according to QA life cycle procedures.

 

This position will be responsible to develop test cases and procedures from specified project documentation and coordinate all testing resources.  They will execute test cases and procedures, while maintaining reports and tracking of defects throughout development life cycle. The Sr. QA Engineer works closely with management to report red flag issues, and they continually attend product/project meetings.  This position will collaborate with the development team to define, document and continually improve the internal development process.  They are also responsible to keep up-to-date with competitive products, technical literature and standards.

 

Education/Training and Experience:

 

We are looking for candidates who have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minimum of 5 years of work experience as a tester/analyst or in a related role.  Knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet & VSTAT networks are required.  Candidates should have extensive experience with PC hardware, OS setup/configuration and MS SQL queries.  Ideal candidates will understand software development cycles, bug reporting tools/software, and be able to create QA testing builds for new system setup.  Knowledge of user interface/human factors, software cycle tools, i.e. Perforce, and principles of sound safety management are required.  Must also be strong communicators, both written and verbal, with excellent organizational skills.  Candidate must also have a solid understanding of MS Windows platforms: 98, 2000 and XP.  Understanding of game console development, cable set top boxes and iTV middleware is a plus.

 

The ideal candidates will have a strong familiarity with the state of interactive television and the Internet from a technical and aesthetic perspective.  They will be detail oriented, able to work well in a fast paced, dynamic environment and be energetic to take on difficult challenges. They should be able to develop concise and comprehensive bug descriptions, methodically reproduce issue scenarios and be able to learn and proficiently use in-house proprietary QA software utilities.  Candidates should be able to multi-task and work efficiently both independent and as part of a team.
