Senior Tax Accountant

The Senior Tax Accountant will work closely with the Tax Director, Corporate Controller and CAO.  As a Senior Tax Accountant at Comsys you will be exposed to a full range of current key tax concepts.  The primary areas of responsibilities include federal and state income tax return preparation, tax research, FAS 109 preparation, and FIN 48 preparation.  From a professional development stand-point your knowledge base will expand tremendously all while maintaining an enjoyable work-life balance.  Specifically, the areas of responsibility for the Senior Tax Accountant include:  Comprehensive FAS 109 preparation and analysis for a consolidated multi-state corporate structure to include initial draft of all related financial statement footnotes and disclosures.  Perform critical research for corporate tax planning opportunities as well as other tax related issues as needed. Create detailed Federal and State income tax return work papers. Utilize tax reporting software (InSource RS/GoSystems) to create and finalize consolidated Federal and State income and franchise tax returns. Maintain FIN 48 documentation and examine the Company’s position on new Uncertain Tax Positions. Documentation for SOX 404, specifically related to the income tax provision process. Calculate and draft the Federal and State corporate income tax estimates and extensions. Perform initial review of work papers and returns prepared by External Accountants related to tax reporting of Foreign Operations. Possess strong project management and multi-tasking skills.  The ability to manage tight deadlines is a must. Assist in tax audits, as well as handle written correspondence with taxing authorities.   Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting Masters in Tax preferred. CPA or currently working on attaining CPA.  3-4 years federal and multi-state tax experience in a large publicly traded corporate tax department or large CPA firm, prefer Big 4.
