Software Engineer (Quality)

OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc. is a nonprofit, membership, computer library service and research organization dedicated to the public purposes of furthering access to the world's information and reducing information costs. Tens of thousands of libraries around the world use OCLC services to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve library materials. We are currently seeking candidates for a Software Engineer (Quality) position in our Boulder, Colorado office.  Design and develop tools and test suites used for automated testing.   Apply appropriate automation technologies to meet the short and long term goals of the testing teams.   Proactively participate in maintaining team standards and QA best practices.   Use test tools such as Mercury QuickTest Professional in the automation of test cases.   Create documentation for users to be able to setup and execute the automated test cases/suites.   Train QA teams to execute automated test cases and review automated test case results.   Partner with the software development, product management and QA Teams to identify the products and services to be automated based on both  business priority and benefit of automated testing. Develop according to specified automated library design and coding standards. Work with development groups to design and implement test automation solutions that maximize the features / functions of the test ware while providing more complete test coverage and test script maintainability. Work as part of a team to develop and implement global initiatives that support the sharing of test tools, test suites, test strategies and test processes across the enterprise. Bachelor's degree in computer related discipline or equivalent work experience and 3-5 years of technical or quality work (QA or QC) experience is required. 2+ years of relevant software engineering using VBScript, C or like programming language. Excellent problem solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills. A thorough understanding of test automation tools, QuickTest Professional is a plus. Experience with using software version control packages, Version Manager is a plus. Strong team-orientated, interpersonal, and communication skills. Prioritizations skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Must be highly motivated, self-driven, and have the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Strong research and documentation skills. Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills. Professional certification such as the Certified Software Quality Engineer for Certified Software Quality Analyst is preferred but not essential. Experience with the analysis, creation, and maintenance of static test environments and test data necessary to insure repeatable test results. Experience with Agile Software Development Methods desired (XP, SCRUM, DSDM ....).
