Software Localization Engineer Job Description:Position# AH 8622 Software Localization Engineer ( 3 Openings )This position is for the world's largest software company, headquartered in Redmond, Washington. The Office International team is looking for a dynamic and passionate International Project Engineer (IPE). The IPE will drive the localizability of one or more of the Office applications through upstream evangelization and language-neutral localization processes as well as support localization production centers in Redmond and Dublin.. Responsibilities include Promote pseudo-localization to application teams and educate/support PM, Dev, Test, and Release in utilizing this technology effectively as an integral part of the development/test workflow. Function as first point of contact for application teams for questions related to pseudo-localization and build breaks in the pseudo-loc build. Review product specs for localizability and globalization issues. Own the LocStudio pseudo-localization infrastructure, resource commenting, and documenting software localization processes in the Localization Kit for complex localization projects. Recommend process improvements where needed. Assist the Localizability team with engineering best practices in tactical areas with high impact for the localization teams and that require cross-group solutions.Qualifications Sound knowledge of the software development process and cycle. Strong problem solving skills Flawless verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Knowledge of the localization process, tools and issues, especially localization, localizability and globalization issues strong preferred. Strong knowledge of the Office System applications. Knowledge of 1 or more programming language and the ability to write scripts and or batch files. Excellent project management skills. Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience. 1+ years working experience in software localization. Strong team spirit and collaboration skills. Experience working in a large organization and with external groups and partners is desirable. We are interested in candidates local to the Pacific Northwest only.
