Sr. Designer - Woven Tops
The Sr. Designer's opportunity and objective is to continuously create and develop unique product that is brand appropriate while being modern and cutting edge, balances core and trend items and is enhanced through the details, which set the product apart from other brands. The designed product complements the entire assortment and creates imaginative and cohesive tops that reinforce the seasonal/monthly mood and direction. The Sr. Designer will be a part of a highly creative and energetic team that will play an integral role in the White House|Black Market. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with Sr. Director, Director of Fabric R&D, and Director of Trend to create the Bi-Annual Seasonal Direction Presentation and Trend Book. Work with Sr. Director to define, create Monthly Mood and presentation. Execute Monthly Mood to completion including working with CAD on prints, defining key looks, and key elements for groups, and monthly mood paragraph reviewing with sr. director on a regular basis. Present Seasonal trend and Monthly Mood Presentations. Constant Fashion Research across multiple avenues regarding head to toe outfitting and key silhouettes, accessories including but not limited to destination research in major and up and coming locations, runway, retail, vintage, and trend services. Work with Sr. Director of Creative and Director of Trend to identify key trends and destinations to focus on fashion research. Identifying and communicating to all applicable CFT's brand appropriate key fashion trends at the right time to ensure a trend right, modern, high volume assortment. Stay abreast of current sales and assortment in order to impact future sales with more forward information. Drive with Creative Teams CFT's conceptual design calendar as it relates to coordinating travel and presentations. Build and Manage personal retail and travel Budget coordinating with design team administrator. Assists other team members w/ special projects and support when workload is heavy. Travel as needed. Have fun with the work each day and enjoy the unique ability to be part of a creative and energetic team at WHBM. QUALIFICATIONS: 4-year college degree with a design and major preferred. Minimum 8 years experience preferably in a Senior Design role in the contemporary market with a clear understanding of brand and customer specific design. Exceptional taste level suitable for brands such as Elli Tahari, BCBG, Nannette Lepore, Rebecca Taylor, Cynthia Steffe. Excellent ability to create cohesive collections cross multiple classifications Expertise in seasonal trend research and trend forecasting ability across broad category base, defining and communicating fashion and trend direction, creating mood boards. Excellent Presentation skills, ability to create solid presentation and communicate clearly and concisely. Strong sense and passion for researching print and pattern Strong illustration skills a plus. Strong Knits and Sweaters Background a plus.
