Sr. HR Generalist (Japanese language fluency Preferred)
A major international company in Manhattan, NY has an immediate opening for Sr. HR Generalist position.Fluent in Japanese and English bilingual OR working experience at Japanese companies are preferred.Minimum 3 years of HR Generalist experience is required. Job Summary:Performs all functions of human resources including recruiting, benefits, compensation, training and employee relations, policies and procedures and safety program. Duties and Responsibilities:- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt employees in all five offices; conducts new-employee orientations; writes job descriptions, places advertisements, interview candidates for positions, trains managers for interviews and processes background checks.- Identifies federal and states legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources function. Develops and maintains various human resources plans, policies and procedures for all company personnel; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual (e.g. safety and health program).- Establishes and maintains compensation programs; develops. designs and implements performance evaluation program, pay policies and structures and various bonus programs, analyzes total compensation and evaluates the program for continuous quality improvement.- Manages and evaluates benefits administration including medical, dental, vision, 401K plan, workers compensation, Paid Time Off, COBRA, short-term disability, flexible spending accounts. Recommends and implements better plans or designs for effectiveness and cost containtmnt. Communicates benefits information to employees. Participates in negotiation with vendors regarding benefits packages.- Advises management on questions and problems relating to human resources. Identifies employee relations through counseling, personal interviews and exit interviews and provides recommendations to management.- Develops and coordinates educational training programs that address company needs across division lines (e.g. sexual harassment, employment laws, performance management, interviewing, safety). Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in human resources management or counseling. Advance degree a plus.- Knowledge of all aspects of human resources, federal and state (California and New York) regulations is required.- Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills are required.- Minimum 3 years of generalist experience in human resources is required.- Japanese language skills are preferred.- PHR or SPHR certification holder is preferred.- Ability to apply and adapt practices effectively. *** NO PHONE CALLS, please.
